Dear Music Lovers,
It is with great pleasure that we announce the fourth annual Orion Independent Music Festival in Park City, Utah! The festival will take place January 11th –15th, 2013 at various venues throughout Park City and some select venues in Salt Lake City. This year we are featuring over 30 of the greatest independent artists in the world. Performances of the hottest local and international artists will take place in multiple venues throughout Park City (Main Street to Kimball Junction), and in some select venues in Salt Lake City. The festival will take place over Martin Luther King Holiday Weekend. Musical genres will include, among others, Rock, Pop, Solo Singer/Songwriter, Jazz, Metal, R&B, Reggae, Classical, Country, World/ethnic, Blues, and Hip-hop, among many. There will be something for music lovers of every taste.
Our mission of this festival is: “To provide an environment wherein independent musicians and artists can reach a larger audience”. Orion serves as a selection valve in an overwhelming new virtual music world. We are creating an environment for genuine independent talent to be discovered by independent and major music and film industry professionals and fans alike.
Park City’s admirable spirit of artistic independence stems from its early days as a silver mining town. This coupled with a reputation for hosting international events, makes Park City the ideal location for a festival that seeks to revolutionize the music industry.
