Shades of Gray was started in 2002 by Mat Wennergren, Nathan Simpson and Joey Davis. The three met in the Highland High School music department in Salt Lake City, UT. The trio played in the greater Salt Lake area for the next couple years, then added a keyboard/trumpet player Anthony Phan. Phan played with the band for four years and they released their debut album, Come To The Window, in 2007. Skyler Arbon was added to the group in early 2010 as a second guitar player and in early 2011 Anthony Phan left the band to pursue other life goals. Adam Fifield was added to the band as the keys player in 2011. Shades of Gray plays throughout Salt Lake City, Park City and Ogden. They have opened for several touring acts including The Pimps of Joytime.
