Megan Blue has been singing and performing for over a decade, and holds a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance. She has performed many beloved opera and musical theater roles. While in college in New Orleans, she performed with many of the great players of the city, namely Johnny Vidacovich and John Mahoney, and was invited to sing at the world famous New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in 2001. After years of singing and performing, Megan decided it was time to branch out and start writing her own music. She found her partner in crime last year, the Southern Gentleman, Kentre Ventriss Battles.

Tree has been writing and performing his own poetry since 2004, when he won first place in the Florida Poerty Slam competition. He has toured and performed with some of the best musicians in the country, including Mark Gibson and Steward and Windfield. He currently has a career in festival production and management and helps with the creation of two of the biggest music events in the South; The Voodoo Music festival, and The Essence Music Festival.

Megan and Kentre started playing together last year in New Orleans. It started as a front porch jam, but when they attracted the attention of all the neighborhood children across the street, who were cheering and stomping for more, they decided to go big.

Megan Blue’s sultry, powerful, hypnotic voice, along with Kentre’s soulful southern unique approach to guitar make for one of the most exciting, dynamic, and captivating duets around. They bring back the true artistry and essence of the greatest folk, blues, country and gospel singers of yesterday.

Megan and Tree have just finished writing their first original debut album, called ‘Onward and Upward’, featuring ‘Stillwaters’ and ‘Help Wanted’ as heard on several radio programs. Their sound is a beautiful blend of all different styles of music, including blues, country, rock, jazz, and Americana.

They are currently back in New Orleans after touring in Idaho, Utah, and Colorado all summer with great success. They are recording their first album with all original tracks, and looking forward to playing around ‘The Big Easy’.
